Public Sector HR Legal Update
We are pleased to share the details and registration information for the upcoming ANHPEHRA training, which is free to all ANHPEHRA members.
This training will be a hybrid presentation. Participants will choose whether to register for the in-person or virtual session. Please be sure to choose the correct registration link below.
The in-person session will be held at Primex, 46 Donovan Street, Concord. Light breakfast goodies will be served. If you attend virtually, you will still be able to ask questions of the presenters using the Q&A tool. Please note if your organization is a member of Primex, you will need to log into your account to register. If your organization is not a member of Primex, you can register as a ‘guest’ at the bottom of the registration page.

Session Description:
Anna Cole and Hannah Devoe, Drummond Woodsum, will present an update on recent developments in labor and employment law. The presentation will include an overview if the new Pregnant Worker Fairness Act, an assessment of managing the Act alongside the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the overlay of workers’ compensation laws. The presentation will also cover effective performance evaluations and just cause discipline, concluding with an overview of employee protection related to discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower laws.

Anna Cole is Co-leader of Drummond Woodsum’s Employment and Labor practice group, and she provides counseling services in all aspects of employment law to public employers. Anna advises and trains clients on workplace issues related to employee leave of absence, discrimination, disability accommodation, wage/hour, and workplace misconduct matters. She reviews and drafts employee handbooks, and employer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, as well as best practices. She also represents employers in collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance and arbitration proceedings.

Hannah Devoe is an up-and-coming attorney in Drummond Woodsum’s Employment and Labor practice group who works with public and private employers throughout New Hampshire, advising them on all aspects of employment law. Recognizing that employment law is complex and ever-changing, she brings a high level of commitment and compassion to every challenge her clients face. Hannah served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review while at Roger Williams University School of law and completed several legal externships prior to joining Drummond Woodsum. She recently completed a Master of Laws in International Commercial Law at University College London (UCL).
